【会议通知】“城市生物多样性与可持续发展”亚洲区域研讨会

First Announcement for the "International Symposium on Urban Biodiversity and Sustainable Development

 (Asia Region)"

As urbanization accelerates worldwide, high population densities in cities impact the environment through natural habitat loss, pollution, and climate warming. These factors collectively threaten biodiversity, reduce ecosystem services, and challenge urban sustainability, health, and well-being. Addressing biodiversity loss, climate change, and increasing disease burdens in cities is now a crucial focus in urban ecology.

The Biodiversity Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and multiple Asian universities and research institutions, will convene the "International Symposium on Urban Biodiversity and Sustainable Development (Asia Region)" in Xiamen, China, from February 19-22, 2025. This symposium will bring together experts from across Asia to discuss environmental challenges faced by urban ecosystems and propose actionable solutions.
