On the afternoon of August 27, the inaugural meeting of the Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association was held at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prof. Lin Rongcheng, deputy director of the Institute of Botany, attended the meeting, and 55 representatives from 14 units attended the meeting. The inaugural meeting was chaired by Prof.MA Keping from the Institute of Botany.
Prof. Lin Rongcheng delivered a speech on behalf of the Institute of Botany and read out the "Notice of Establishment Work" of the Beijing Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau. During the meeting, Prof. MA Keping introduced the preparations for the research group. The representatives of the meeting reviewed and approved the "Articles of the Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association (Draft)", the "Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association Inaugural Meeting Election Method", and the "Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association" "Administrative Measures for the Collection of Scientific Research Association Fees" and other documents.
The first council and board of supervisors were elected at the meeting. Prof.MA Keping of the Institute of Botany was elected chairman of the board, Prof. Guo Liangdong of the Institute of Microbiology and Prof. Li Ming of the Institute of Zoology were elected vice chairman, Prof.Qin Haining of the Institute of Botany was elected Secretary General, and Prof. Xie Zongqiang of the Institute of Botany was elected Chief Supervisor.
The Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association held the first meeting of the first board of directors, elected the organization of the research group, and established 5 working groups. Each group leader and participants discussed how the research group can effectively organize biodiversity. Discuss and make suggestions on topics such as sexual academic exchanges and training, popular science education, and support for government decision-making.
The establishment of the Beijing Biodiversity Science Research Association is conducive to gathering expert resources, building an academic exchange platform, and promoting the cultivation of talents in the field of biodiversity. The seminar will be based in Beijing, facing the whole country, and looking at the world, making important contributions to the scientific development of China's biodiversity.
